Win a culinary break in Slovenia

Culinary Anthropologist has teamed up with friends in Slovenia to offer this exciting prize draw. The lucky winners will spend two nights at Klavže 28 – a beautifully restored stone farmhouse set in 20 acres of forest and meadow in the foothills of the Julian Alps in the stunning Soca Valley.

You will be hosted by Anna’s friend Ben, who together with partner Steffan painstakingly renovated Klavže 28 into the very special guesthouse it is today.

Ben will welcome you with local wines and dinner featuring the region’s best ingredients. You will fall asleep in the warmth of the wood-burner and wake to a mountain valley panorama and the smell of breakfast cooking downstairs. Depending on the season, you might then find yourself collecting wild garlic in the woods nearby, hunting for porcini higher up, learning how to make cheese with a local producer or helping Ben cook up another feast in the kitchen.

Set right on the crystal clear Baca river, a stone’s throw from the Triglav National Park, an hour’s drive from the Goriška Brda wine region, and within easy reach of Ljubljana, Klavže 28 is both relaxing and inspiring.

You can of course extend your stay. Ben would be happy to organise further activities for you, such as a visit to Lake Bled, paragliding, or a visit to one of the best Goriška Brda wineries for a tour, tasting and lunch overlooking the vineyards.

 

How to enter the draw:

Anyone who attends a Culinary Anthropologist event in London in 2015 can enter the draw. All you have to do is leave your name and email address in Anna’s visitors’ book while you are there.

Events include both scheduled and privately booked cooking classes and Secret Kitchen dinners. Scheduled events are advertised on the Culinary Anthropologist website.

You can enter the draw each time you attend an event in 2015.

 

Details of the prize:

Two nights bed and breakfast accommodation at Klavže 28 for two people sharing a room.

Welcome dinner with wine.

Arrangements for a seasonal culinary activity in the local area, for which an extra charge may be made depending on the activity. This will be agreed with the prize winner in advance.

Not included:

Transport to and from Klavže 28.

Travel insurance.

Any further activities, accommodation, meals or services. These may be booked for an extra charge.

 

Terms and conditions:

The draw is open from 1st January to 31st December 2015.

Leaving your name and email address in the Culinary Anthropologist visitors’ book will result in you being entered into the draw and added to the Culinary Anthropologist newsletter list, unless you specifically request not to be.

One draw entry is permitted per person per event. So if you attend 3 Culinary Anthropologist events in 2015 you may enter 3 times. All entries must be made in person, during the event.

The winner will be picked at random from all entries in January 2016 and notified soon after by email. If we receive no response to our email for two weeks we will pick another winner at random and the previous draw will be invalidated.

The prize will be issued in the form of a voucher which will be valid for two years.

The winner will need to book their visit to Klavže 28 in advance direct with Ben, and bookings will be subject to availability. Please note that Klavže 28 is open from spring to autumn and is closed for the winter.

The prize is non transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.

Both Culinary Anthropologist and Klavže 28 may use the names of the winners and photos from their visit to Klavže 28 in their publicity materials.
