As a member of the SOAS Food Studies Centre I explore the social, cultural, political and economic dimensions to food and am involved in various projects.

Having returned to university after a 20 year break to do the (fantastic) MA in the Anthropology of Food, I am now a part-time PhD student researching the construction of a regional cuisine in Croatian Istria, supervised by the Centre’s Chair, Dr Jakob Klein.

Other interests include alternative food systems and ethical consumption, West African condiments and changing foodways, constructions of the Mediterranean Diet, and anthropological approaches to rural tourism and the cultural economy.
